pasta restaurant

our design of a fresh pasta restaurant combines a modern, minimal aesthetic with traditional methods of building to define an experience that is both timeless and familiar.

crafted from one hundred year old heart pine boards, reclaimed from the former Mohasco mills in upstate new york, the facade and interior walls define a clean wooden volume that welcomes the visitor from the street. set within these wooden walls is the heart of the project -an open kitchen and pasta making room lined with floor to ceiling slabs of italian carrara marble. this jewel box-like space is designed to showcase the process of pasta making within plain view of the dining area. in the center of the dining room sits a ten feet long marble communal dining table that doubles as a work table for pasta making classes and workshops open to the public.
